How to integrate with salesforce


Before integrating with Salesforce, some things need to be checked first.

Firstly, if your account has a package that will allow you to use Selligences Premium Integrations, your account manager will be able to add this upgrade to your account should you not have it. Once you have enabled the Integrations pack, we can connect to Salesforce.

Salesforce has multiple user types and permissions, and the Selligence Admin will need to have access to a Salesforce user account that has API permissions & you as a business will need to use "Leads" in Salesforce. If you don't, please contact us for bespoke integration offerings.

Salesforce Packages That Support API integration

For our integration to work we need to have API Access enabled, API access is limited to the following editions of Salesforce. 

The API is automatically enabled by default on the following editions:
1. Enterprise Edition
2. Unlimited Edition
3. Developer Edition
4. Performance Edition

The API package is not available for purchase in the following editions:
1. Contact Edition
2. Group Edition

The API feature might be requested for the following editions via purchase:
1. Professional Edition

Identify What edition of Salesforce you're using:

From Salesforce Classic and Lightning Experience:

  • Navigate to Setup.
  • In the 'Quick Find' search box type, Company
  • Click Company Information
  • Your Salesforce Edition is listed in the "Organization Edition" field.

Note: Other key org details such as " Organization ID" and "Instance" will also be listed in the right hand column of the Company Information page.

We recommend setting up a service user in Salesforce that has the API permissions needed to connect Selligence to Salesforce.

Authenticate with Salesforce

Once a service user has been set up the Selligence account will need to sign in and navigate to the integrations management page under manage organisation.

Once on that page, you will see the integration options, select Connect next to the salesforce icon, this will open a popup for you to enter the service users login details into.

Please ensure popup blockers allow popups from Selligence.

After putting in your login details you will be presented with a data mapping page:

The fields that are non selectable are types of data we sent from the Selligence platform. The dropdown on the right allow you to map the data to your own fields and custom fields.

Once you’ve mapped where you want the data to go click next again and the popup will close and a message will display showing its successfully connected.

From this point, Salesforce will be available as an option under Export in Market Mapping, prospecting/talent sourcing & on all events.

Salesforce integration for Selligence users

For non admin users, if the email address they use to log into Selligence is different to the email address they use to log into Salesforce they will need to update this in the integration settings. To do this, they will need to go to Account and they will see a Salesforce Email box:

They can change this email address to be the same one they use to login to Salesforce and click save. Once they click Save, the Selligence platform will validate that this user has an account in Salesforce under that email address.
