Migration Guide To The New Bullhorn Authentication System

Overview 

We have made changes to the Bullhorn integration authentication system to improve its reliability and ease of use. This means that you will now be able to connect your Bullhorn account to our system with fewer issues and in a more user-friendly way. 

The updated system is more robust, which reduces the likelihood of experiencing problems or errors. Additionally, we have streamlined the process of connecting your Bullhorn account, making it quicker and simpler to start using the integration. Overall, these changes will provide you with a better experience when using the Bullhorn integration.


Steps To Migrate To The New Authentication System 


You will need to contact Bullhorn Technical support to "whitelist" an additional domain for the callback URI "https://www.selligence.com/app/bhcallback"


The changes don't need to take affect before making the following changes but it is important that the request is made ready for the sun setting of the old callback URI.


The two domains the user should have whitelisted are:

Hi Bullhorn Support,

I need to whitelist the following URI’s for my API integration with Selligence (formally Talent Ticker)

My Client ID is: {Add your CLIENT ID from Bullhorn HERE}

https://www.talentticker.ai/bhcallback


Can you advise once the URI’s have been added to the whitelist.

The Selligence Admin user will need to navigate to "Manage Organisation" Then Select "Integrations". At the top of the screen you will see the Bullhorn integration with two new fields:

  • Bullhorn Username
  • Bullhorn Password

These credentials are the ones given to you from Bullhorn when creating the Client ID and Secret. They are the details they you used to enter on a Bullhorn login screen. With the change in authentication that screen no longer exists.




These details can also be known as API Username & API user Password


Once on the integration page, enter the Client ID, Client Secret, Bullhorn Username and Bullhorn Password then click Save. A "Authenticating" Screen will show, once complete no further action is required.


FAQ's

  • I'm getting an error that says "Bullhorn denied access" when trying to save my credentials?

    • If Bullhorn are refusing your credentials then the best course of action is to contact Bullhorn through their support channels HERE. This error typically happens if the API Username and or password are blocked/wrong

  • My Credentials are correct but I'm still getting an error?

    • Whilst we make every effort to account for every possible scenario there may be cases where the system won't connect. To get support please raise a ticket from the main support page  and a customer success representative will be more than happy to help you.
