What is the difference between reveal and refresh?

Modified on Thu, 23 Feb 2023 at 05:50 PM

You might notice that the blue button to gain contact details says “Reveal” sometimes and then others says, “Refresh.” Either wording means the same, you are going to gain access to the most up to date contact information we can find when you click that button.

The button will sometimes say “Refresh” instead of “Reveal” for a few different reasons.

  1. You have already revealed the information previously and you are just refreshing it to see if anything has changed since the last time you clicked the button. If any new information populates, you will see a green checkmark appear next to it. New information will mean that a contact credit was used.
  2. Someone else on your account has already revealed the contact information. In this case, you will have access to the information as well without the use of a contact credit. Just like before, however, if new information populates, a contact credit will be used.
  3. Some of the details may already lie on our platform. In this case, you click the button to refresh the data that is already stored on the platform. This could reveal new information that was not there previously, and/or remove information that is no longer accurate. Just like before, new information will use a contact credit.
